The figures which you see before you represent the time required before an underground palace will next be opened. The artifacts unearthed from Famen Temple's underground palace show the high level of craftsmanship of the Tang Dynasty. They represent the items which were most cherished by the people of that time. Therefore, Venerable Master Hsing Yun appealed to the public for donations of times that would allow future generations to understand btter our era and the items that we value. They will be sealed in 48 underground palaces at the Buddha Museum, where a palace will be opened every 100 years. People in the future will eagerly await the mysterious gift bequeathed by the past. This is the Master's message, "Every 100 years the spirit of the Buddha will be extended with the opening of the underground palaces."
