The model, made of walnut by the carver Giuseppe Antignati, depicts the bust of the Assumption of Mary, subject of the Madonnina statue placed on top of Milan Duomo's Main Spire. The work was sculpted based on a sketch by Giuseppe Perego, life-size, and faithfully represents the figure of the Virgin crowning the Temple. It is currently exhibited at the Milan Duomo Museum, in the room dedicated to the Madonnina.
