Camping

Camping is a work by the Spanish artist Guim Tió Zarraluki (Barcelona, Spain, 1987). Zarraluki is known for his portraits, where he takes a stylish jab at contemporary beauty standards. He began by “touching up” the pages of fashion publications but, recently, the artist has begun to paint directly on canvas and wood. In addition to portraits, Zarraluki also paints large-scale landscapes on which he places small and solitary characters. This is the case with Camping, a peaceful and nocturnal mountainous landscape, where the feeling of loneliness and darkness is broken by the presence of a tent illuminated from within, which shows the silhouette of two people together.
