Volkan Aslan frequently appropriates and transforms found objects and images for his work, making them part of his artistic production. His work "Concern" is a wall installation composed of coloured felt figures of Jamaican origin the artist found at a second-hand shop in Istanbul. The felt figures had been previously used in churches to teach children the history of Christianity. Before it was incorporated into the Arter Collection,"Concern" assumed different colours and sizes and compositions for various exhibitions. In the context of the exhibition "What Time Is It?" (2019) at Arter, these found figures were installed by Aslan as a landscape that can be read from both directions as the viewers walk up or down the stairs between the third and fourth-floor galleries. Left to the viewer’s imagination, the narrative of the installation was open to change and differed from person to person.
