Print after a gouache work by Niclas Lafrensen, the younger. Shows an interior featuring a man and two women. The woman on the right is handed a folded letter by the standing man in the center, as she reaches towards him. She is seated with a small musical instrument is in her lap. The second woman appears to the left of the man; she is seated and reading a sheet of music. A harp, cello, and harpsichord stand to the right, and some books, music, and a box lie on the floor next to them. The interior is ornate, consisting of a mantle and large mirror in the center. The walls are decorated with roundels, sculptures, garlands, and Corinthian pilasters. The interior also includes a curtain on the left with a screen in front, candelabra on opposing sides of the mirror, and a carpet with an elaborate pattern. A cat is seated next to the fireplace in the center of the composition. A coat of arms and two lions appear below the image.
