This is the best preserved impression of Queen Jadwiga’s minor seal in Polish collections, it is an example of the excellent durability of seal wax (beeswax combined with resin, dye and other ingredients). - Physical Dimensions: Wax impression, dyed red, in a bowl of natural wax, with preserved string (silk cords, unravelled). Diameter of seal: 35 mm, diameter of wax bowl: 73 mm. Seal inscription in pearl rim: S' HEDEWIGIS + DEI + GRACIA + REGINE + POLONIE + ETC. Type of script: Gothic majuscules [or Gothic uncial]. Image of the seal: In a three-leaved border, the Hungarian coat of arms of the Andegawenes and the coat of arms of Poland; the escutcheons supported from above by an angel. The background filled with ornaments.
