This photograph is a portrait of Christo Coetzee by the French photographer and art critic Michel Tapié de Céleyran (1909-1987) taken in Osaka in 1959. In 1959 the South African artist Christo Coetzee went to Tokyo Japan on an art scholarship arranged by Michel Tapié.
