Motherlan

Founded in 2018, Motherlan is a Nigerian streetwear brand with roots in skateboarding. Its founders, Leo, Slawn, and Onyedi, met through a shared love of skateboarding and graphic design whilst at school in Victoria Island, Lagos. The brand has since found an international following of fans who appreciate its subversive use of traditional Nigerian motifs of cultural symbology. In 2019 Motherlan released its first film, titled ‘Edward’, followed in 2020 with a second film, ‘Victoria’, in collaboration with Converse. The same year, Motherlan appeared on the cover of i-D magazine.
