The quick definition of the clothing, the lack of any connotation denouncing the profession or social status of the subject of the painting contributed to outlining an image with domestic tones which was a true celebration of the deep friendship between the two painters. Giannone outlines the face and clothes without too many details and although it is considered unfinished the painting renders a refined and effective self-examination.
