Records of the Dredging of the Cheonggyecheon Stream

This book records the dredging work of Cheonggye stream to widen the waterway. The construction was organized by the dredging office in 1760 (year 36 of Yeongjo), and Hong Gyehee was the main director. The book contains Yeongjo’s preface, letter to the director, construction records and regulations. The construction took place for 57 days from 18 February to 15 April 1760, and 150,000 Hanseong villagers were involved and 35,000 nyang (money), 20,300 packs of rice were used.
