An ink on Paper of a white rhinoceros, simply titled, Rhino painted in the 1960s is by the South African artist Zakkie Eloff (1925-2003). Short Biography: Zacharias (Zakkie) Eloff was born in 1925 in Namibia. He studied under the South African artist, Walter Battiss in High School and later at the Pretoria Technical College and later completed his studies at the University of Pretoria. From 1962 to 1968, he worked as a game ranger in the Etosha National Park in Namibia, where his love of painting the unique desert Namibian landscape began. In 1969, Eloff settled in the Eastern Transvaal with his wife Rene Eloff and where Eloff passed away in 2003.
