Romantic gentleman

This portrait reminds of many others at the time representing outstanding characters of the aristocracy and the monarchy or of arts and literature, and to which sculptors such as Antonio Solá in Spain or Jean Auguste Barre in France dedicated their careers. In this particular case, it is a sculpture signed by Antonio Solá in 1847. Although the identity of the portrayed man is unknown, this bust provides the archetypal romantic gentleman, wearing a hairstyle characteristic at the time.
