About the Work: A collective of four artists, La Limpia (the cleanse), uses irony and humor to create works that range from art objects to public “interventions.” In this photograph, they play with the meaning of words in order to call attention to the altiplano, a high Andean plateau. The word “llama” can refer to either the iconic South American pack animal or a flame, while “saco” can be translated to mean coat or sack.
