Kingi Carpenter opened her silkscreen studio that specialized in pop culture prints on Queen Street in 1987. She called her shop Peach Berserk after a shade of lipstick mentioned in Helen Gurley Brown’s 1962 book ‘Sex and the Single Girl.’ Carpenter closed her business in the spring of 2012 due to the soaring cost of Queen Street rents.
