Sforzesco Castle

Sforzesco Castle
Milan, Italy

This stool is one of the best-known pieces of furniture made to
the design of Milanese decorator Giocondo Albertolli and is one of the few
documented by original drawings. The structure references classical models,
such as Roman tripods, but modernised to the French taste of Louis XVI. The
stool was used to furnish one of the rooms of the Villa Reale in Monza.
