Teruko Aotani (then 13), a first-year student at Aki Girls High School, was exposed at her building demolition work site. Severely burned over her entire body, she somehow managed to get home. Notwithstanding her mother's devoted care, she died in the morning of the 7th. These locks of hair her mother cut off as a keepsake are singed in places.
