The title of Count of San Rafael was granted by Carlos III to Luis Curiel Álamos, a knight from Seville, on November 24th 1760. After the marriage of his son Epifanio Mª Curiel to Mª Antonia Tavares Salvatierra, the “vínculo” on property and land located in Setenil, Ronda and Lucena, established on their testament by Gaspar Holgado Carvajal and Catalina Lozano del Río in 1682, was incorporated to the county of San Rafael.
