Sid Sackson (1920-2002) is considered by many one of the greatest game designers of all time. A civil engineer by training, he devoted his time, later in life, to playing, collecting, and designing games of all kinds. His financial game Acquire was among the first published in the famous 3M bookshelf game series, and it is still in publication. In 1994 Face 2 Face Games of Providence, RI published Sackson's I'm The Boss! board game. The play involves simple but clever negotiations and deal-making among players, in an effort to amass the most money. The game board throws certain combinations of player's characters into deals, but players also hold cards which can change the deals to certain advantages. At game's end, the wealthiest player wins. In 2012 the German firm Schmidt Spiele brought out a German version of the game, named Kohle, Kie$ & Knete (Coal, Gravel & Clay). The play appears very similar to the original.
