  • Subject matter: theology
  • Number of folios: 186
  • Description: Recension of a Zaydī work, whose third part is the text at hand. It continues the paragraph on “God’s blessings” (الطاف); addresses suffering and pain asbeing compensated for with privilege; discusses prophethood in general and more particularly that of Muḥammad; elaborates on the Qurʾān’s unrivalled excellence and its creation; and finally provides the proof that ʿAlī and his sons al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn are Muḥammed’s succesors, the Imāms. The fourth part deals with the Imāmate and the successors of ʿAlī’s sons. The work shows little clarity; its structure is recognizable by way of the numerous comments in the form قلنا – فان قيل. The underlying work is written by الحسن بن محمد الرصّاص حسام الدين (around 610/1213) according to f.126vThis would have to be the son of the man mentioned in Glaser 30. (cf. No. 2366). The editor, Sulaymān b.ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥarrāshī, is his contemporary.
