Not all wartime board games dealt with wartime subjects. Milton Bradley Company produced its Trade Winds Merchant Marine game in 1943, during World War II. Players all act as importers and the first to have visited five different ports in Central or South America ends the game. The winner is the player who made the best investments when "selling" his or her cargo--determined at random by "value" cards used in play. The game helps teach the geography of North America's neighbors to the south.
