The chamber is made from stainless steel sheet. 0 .4 mm thick, and will be suspended by stainless steel ribbons (shown above and below) between the polefaces of an analysing magnet against a compression force of 1 .2 tons. Image 74.10.75 shows the vacuum tank for the electron beam welding machine.
