Virginia’s bedroom is very flamboyant, and this not only reflects the designer, Peter Malacrida, but Virginia too. The bedroom is approached via a circular lobby, with three niches for flowers and a curved sliding door. It has the appearance of a primitive temple, with sycamore veneer pilasters and carved walls lined with maple flexwood. The alcove above the bed is flanked by two 1930s, high backed, marquetry chairs which Virginia embroidered herself. The main light source, and central heating are found concealed in the circular ceiling.
