Framed within several embroidered bands of weave-pattern as well as wavy floral creepers is the central rectangle studded with human and animal figures. The center of the rectangle has the conventional floral medallion surrounded by figures of men engaged in sports, equestrian figures and dandies showing off their umbrellas- a mark of the urbanized elite of the late 19thcentury. The interstices are filled with floral motifs.
The predominance of human figures indicates that the piece has come from a Hindu family.
