Racing games are among the oldest types of games in history. Games with a type of race pattern have been found in ancient Egyptian ruins and in other ancient cultures as well. Such games were easily adapted when horse racing became popular in America before the advent of the automobile. When cars and auto racing became commonplace, simulation board games soon appeared.
