The work was based on research conducted at the Inhotim Institute in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais. The images were projected onto, and distorted by, mirrors of various sizes, creating assorted dimensions and images at six different points throughout the exhibition space. The work is a study in projection, reflection and transparency. “Inhotim is a singular experience. Unmissable. Important. It thrills, seduces and educates. Perusing all that art, architecture and nature is really impactful; inspiring. For me, the desire to express this experience drove me to photograph and film the way I felt and perceived Inhotim. Fashion design is my instrument and photography and cinema are my artistic expression”. Oskar Metsavaht is a self-taught artist and designer who learned on the go with his fashion brand Osklen, a reference for its graphic iconography and stylistic elements drawn from fashion, architecture and decoration. Over the last decade, he has been using photography to amass raw material for his collections. This image-gathering ended up spilling over into art
