Port of Halifax in ruins after French ship Mont Blanc, loaded w. ammunition & explosives, collided w. the Norwegian ship Imo ultimately resulting in a titanic exposion on Dec. 6, 1917; the blast leveled a square mile of the town and killed over 2,000.
