The sheet shows the graphical analysis of a torso and of several male legs; it is part of an homogeneous group of anatomical studies carried out by Michelangelo aroud the 1520’s. Although the drawings are not releated specifically to any finished work, it is likely that they were a preparatory study for the allegorical figures of the Medici’s tomb in the New Sacristy, to which the artist was working on in those years (1524-1525).
