Between 1899 and 1902, Henry Ford failed with two car-making firms: the Detroit Automobile Company and the Henry Ford Company. This little runabout was the prototype vehicle for his third attempt, and was impressive enough to attract new investors. Ford Motor Company, established on June 16, 1903, sold more than 670 Model A cars based on Henry Ford's prototype.
