Front view of 1966 Ford XR Falcon 500 Sedan. The XR Falcon was manufactured by Ford Australia from 1966 to 1968. The Falcon, originally a Ford USA model, was introduced in Australia in 1960 and quickly became one of the most popular cars on the market. The XR was the first Australian-built Falcon to offer a V8 engine option and its exterior was inspired by the Ford Mustang. In 1966 it won the Wheels ‘Car of the Year’ award.\
