1968 Aston Martin DBS

Front and left hand side view. British car manufacturer Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is known for its luxury sports cars and grand tourers. It sports cars have grown to become British cultural icons.
The DBS was produced between 1967 and 1972, replacing the DB6. The DBS is larger and its styling more modern than its predecessor. It has four full size seats, features a fastback style rear, squared off the front grille and the classic Aston Martin wire wheels. The luxury equipment made the DBS quite heavy, but it handled well and could reach up to 224 km/h.
The DBS was in production for five years, but it is believed that only 803 were built, making it a rare sight.
The DBS has featured in both cinema and television. In 1969 it became a ‘Bond car’, driven by George Lazenby’s James Bond in ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’. In the 1970s television series ‘The Persuaders’ Roger Moore used a yellow DBS on his adventures as playboy character Lord Brett Sinclair.
