Left hand front view of 1980 Holden HDT Commodore VC. In the 1980s Peter Brock collaborated with Holden to produce high-performance Commodores to fund the Holden Dealer team. The first special was the VC available in black, red or white. Brock used a stock VC Commodore and modified its performance; the five litre engine was able to produce 160 kw in comparison to the VC's usual 126 kw. The Brock VC could go from zero to one hundred kilometres per hour in 8.4 seconds. The vehicle was fitted with wider and lighter wheels, shock absorbers and the suspension was tweaked. The exterior was given a facelift by Holden designers, with flares, spoilers, stripes and alloy wheels. The Brock special was an Australian muscle car with a touch of class. Onlyl 500 HDT VC Commodores were produced. The first twelve were individually numbered and competed in two races at the AGP Calder Raceway in November 1980.
