Tadeusz Cieślewski (son) (1895–1944), a graphic designer, illustrator, critic and theoretician - woodcut ideologue. His professional activity included book graphic design and bookplate design. Studied painting, printmaking techniques and book graphic design at the Lviv University of Technology and in the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He was a member of numerous graphic art collectives, such as the Polish Graphic Artists Association "Ryt" [Polish: Stowarzyszenie Polskich Artystów Grafików „Ryt”], Polish Union of Graphic Artists [Polish: Związek Polskich Artystów Grafików], a visual artists group "Blok Zawodowych Artystów Plastyków", "Czerń i Biel" [Black and White] group. Being fascinated with woodcut printing, he made it a topic of his theoretical work titled Drzeworyt w książce, tece i na ścianie. Uwagi polemiczne o graficznej rasowości drzeworytu” [Woodcut prints in books, folders and on walls. Polemical observations on graphical woodcut purity] , published in Warsaw in 1936, in which the "pure woodcut" ideology was supported with original prints illustrating the commented technical issues.

The First Polish Graphic Art Showroom was organised in 1928 by the Polish Union of Graphic Artists [Polish: Związek Polskich Artystów Grafików]. The poster announcing the exhibition, printed with the technique of colour lithography, is composed of simplified and overlapping multi-colour shapes. Delicate mid-tones reflect the multiple layers where scattered text informing about the event is integrated.
