This kablo was built on a solid stone platform that was balanced on bricks. The hole through which grain was withdrawn had been sealed by maize cobs (grouped together to form a stopper) and mud, helping to keep the stored grain fresh. Kablo were built as and when they were needed, depending on the harvest.
