DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
BiblioHUB. A vehicle for fostering culture, information and social relations, serving the network of Italian libraries, enabling them to reach outlying areas, where it will stay for a few months in turn. A “treasure chest” that opens and expands outward to take possession of residual urban spaces. A multifunctional platform equipped as a reference point for culture, libraries, leisure and citizens’ services. Lending point of books and e-books / multimedia station / Internet point / bookcrossing / wi-fi hotspot. A recreational-educational workshop for children, and a social meeting place. An instrument of participation in civic life, for social inclusion and cohesion.

AIB Associazione Italiana Biblioteche
The AIB represents Italian librarians in all cultural, scientific and institutional fields. It has done so for more than eighty years, backed by the voluntary work of thousands of people who identify themselves with the values of an association founded on the principles of freedom of thought and opinion, equality, access to knowledge and culture, inclusion and equity.
The association was created to encourage the development of libraries in Italy and support an active role for libraries in society.

Alterstudio Partners
Alterstudio Partners is an architectural office based in Milan since 1996. It works in the field of design on different scales, with a particular concern for public libraries, cultural buildings and public spaces.
