The “3D Printied Light” is deigned based on the study of efficient modeling of 3D printing technology (fused deposition modeling, FDM) for mass production and approaches to graphic design of 3D structure. Among the three types of designs, Pendent light A was originally designed for “Small House Big Door.” The Small House Big Door, the representative project of Design Methods, was to convert a 1960’s building in Ulchiro, Seoul, into a hotel with 25 rooms. The hotel has a bistro, gallery, and event halls and Kim designed many objects for the hotel including lightings by actively using 3D printing technology and various open sources.
