Enamelled gold watch case, engraved on the case the Stuart Royal Arms in Garter, with crested helm and supporters, and monogram 'C.R.', inscribed 'This watch was a present from the King to the Earl of Monteith'. Made in Western Europe, about 1625-40. Movement and dial later replaced by Arlander Dobson, (d.1772) in about 1750.
