Bobby Sham (Bobpin) is an art administrator and photo artist. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Design (multi-media) from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1987. He is now the secretary of the Hong Kong Photographic Cultural Association, the Initiator of the Hong Kong Photo Festival. Media stories covering the July 1 demonstrations in Hong Kong often showed the ant-heap crowds of protesters. Sham, by contrast, created urban spaces without colour and without the protesters' faces, only familiar streets, buildings, and traces of demonstration banners, by taking long exposures with a pinhole camera in Causeway Bay, Admiralty etc.. They provide the viewer with an alternative, and a kind of visual shock.
