Portrait of Frank Fay by John Butler Yeats, commissioned by Annie Horniman for the opening of the Abbey Theatre, 27 December 1904. Frank Fay, leading actor along with his brother William G. Fay, developed the acting style of the new Abbey Theatre company. As Cuchullain in On Baile's Strand by W.B. Yeats, his were the first words spoken on the stage of the original Abbey Theatre.
