A hand fan is also known as pakkhi in some regions of Haryana. Geometric patterns were embroidered on the surface of this pakkhi by using coloured threads. The handle of this pakkhi was made using turned wood with a lacquer finish on it. While the handle itself is bought from a carpenter or a local market, the surface of the fan is made by women in the family.
