General view of the NA4 experimental set-up

General view of the NA4 experimental set-up downstream of experiment NA2 in the high-intensity muon beam of the SPS (see in particular photo 113). A 40 m long tubular target was enclosed in a torodial magnet whose sections are interleaved with trigger counters and planes of multiwire proportional chambers acting as a spectrometer for scattered muons.
