Choreographer: Johan Inger

In 'Mellantid' (Swedish for in between time), the debut work by Johan Inger, he freezes the moment in time between adolescence and adulthood. A moment in which the future ahead lies wide open and is full of promise. When Inger was asked to make a new work for his younger colleagues of NDT 2, he wanted to use this given moment, because he found many parallels between that time and his own experiences. "I used to be part of a very intimate group of friends where unconditional friendship existed. Something very similar to what NDT 2 shares. You do not realize how special this is until much later in life. It is a period of discovery, first love, and simple happiness, but also a time of uncertainty and loneliness. This is what I wanted to manifest in 'Mellantid’.”
