I build a fabric with a combination of textile fibers created by bagworm moths (oiketicus kirbyi). I generate an association between several species, human, insects and plants. From 2012, I have been raising bagworm moths. I provide them a proper environment so they can live in my garden, in a rectangular prisma-shaped house covered with a mesh, a door and a small tree inside. They are called “basket bugs” because of their aspect and are known for going through a similar process to the butterflies: during their development, they endure a notorious body change called metamorphosis, going through the states of egg, larva, pupa and adult. Thus, they build a cocoon in a protected environment, with plants that I give them to feed themselves and grow. I wait for a year until their life cycle finishes and I use the empty cocoon to build a cloak that I enlarge every year, a collaborative action between different species.
