On the right, a stand of silvergrass rustles in a light breeze, a full, round moon ascending behind it. A lone fox is to the left, its back to viewers, raising its head to gaze at the lunar orb, as though the two share a tacit understanding. For the most part, the artist used a "boneless" wash, leaving a great deal of space, the wind soughing through the silvergrass the only sound in the lonely, barren expanse.
