The garland, made of limestone, is embellished on the exterior with flowers and on the interiors with acanthus leaves. It recalls the custom of decorating altars and statues with offerings of fresh flowers and ornaments. The inscription records the name of the donor, Lucius Decimius, Marcus' son, who offered it as a gift to Fortune Primigenia, the worshiped goddess in the great sanctuary of Praeneste, current town of Palestrina. 3rd century BC
