This hand-drawn map was drawn when the Paris Foreign Mission sought a suitable location in the 1860s to establish their Sanatorium. As indicated by the description in the map, Pokfulam Village can be seen on the right, represented by a row of small squares to indicate houses. Pokfulam Reservoir is in the middle, coloured blue. Douglas Castle, later sold to the Paris Foreign Mission and converted to the Nazareth Seminary and Press, is west of Pokfulam Reservoir. The location of Béthanie Sanatorium is indicated by the red rectangle to the south of the Reservoir. The entire area is surrounded by the hills to the north and the sea to the south.
