The art is comprised of four pieces that tell a story of patience. It begins with the entrapment of a dream leading on to the possibility and achievement of the ultimate goal. The sojourner eventually leaps towards permanency, thus entering the third phase of the H-1B worker, until reaching the final phase: the development of a cultural tree.
This first piece depicts the stereotypical desire to be part of American society. It symbolizes the need for relaxing certain regulations for families and individuals with the H-1B visa. The vertical bar represents the entrapment of the desires and worries of an uncertain future that lays ahead for the individual and the family.
