Anna pieces her quilts using no patterns, improvising as she cuts and stitches. She usually pieces eight or nine quilts at a time, and works on a few blocks for two or three of them each evening. Anna comments, “If I didn’t have anything else to do I would just sew. I like working with color. Ideas for designs often come to me during the day while I am working. I’ll think of something and when I get home I fool with it to see how it comes together. Piecing quilts helps me to take my mind off of my troubles.”
