A look at the Quinta de Santiago

Carolina Moreira was born in 1942, in Mesão Frio and lives in Leça da Palmeira. She paints since she was a young girl, based in her inspirations and growing experience. Each canvas has its own significance, and Carolina explains how this significances emerge: “ I never tried to follow a genre of painting that I knew already… I simply mark each canvas with what I feel when I’m painting. Only the courage to accept to walk through an unknown path, that’s what allows my direction in art to reveal itself, allowing me to share some moments of my way with others, in exhibitions I had the opportunity to participate. I believe that each canvas surprises by being singular, because each one has a fancier way to interpret it.”
“Um olhar mais atento” (A closer look), “Um Caminho desconhecido” (An unknown path) e “À Descoberta” (Discovering) were the titles of her solo exhibitions in the Majectic Galery, Porto. Of her several collective exhibitions we highlight the Collective Exhibition of the International Women’s Day, C.M. de V.N. de Gaia, 2014, Collective Exhibition of Painting, Majectic Galery, Porto, 2013 and International Biennial of Women of Arts, FACE - Fórum de Artes e Cultura, Espinho.
