Arajs took an active part in the planning, organization and the mass murder of Jews in Riga.
He was responsible for the murder of at least 25000 Jews during Aktions in the Riga ghetto in December 1941.
Apprehended in 1975 and sentenced in Germany to life imprisonment.
Arajs' name appears among the course graduates at the SS school in Bad Tolz, Germany, 15/08/1944.
