ST PANCRAS RENTS RIOTS.
ALL day and all evening the rent battles rage - from Kennistoun House, Silverdale Court to St. Pancras Town Hall.
And all day and all evening, as violence flares and police clash with demonstrators, innocent women and children suffer.
The melee pictured left is one of the many that started after two rent rebels had been evicted from their barricaded homes.
A torn banner flutters down. Women scream, men are dragged away.
As darkness fell there were uglier scenes - like the one above. A girl has been knocked unconscious and trampled by a panicking crowd.
A friend carries her to safety, her head hangs limply. Her knee is badly bruised.
